Blinkbonny Activities

Our first charcoal making course has taken place recently. We make the charcoal in old oil drums; it takes quite a bit of graft, patience and a modicum of luck, but is usually successful. It was a glorious day bright blue sky and barely any wind - so the people taking part all enjoyed the quiet times of the charcoal burning.

We have finished our nature hyde at the top of the wood. It is built in the style of a 'Hogan' a North American Indians hexaganol log building. We have left gaps between the logs that can be used to view and open area in he wood. We have set up a bird feeding station - already well visited.

We have also had the first campers of the year in May - five lads from Newcastle, who all enjoyed a bit of wild camping.
